Chai Tea Poached Pears (0 points)

6 servings (1/3 cup each)


Ingredients:

4 pears, peeled, cored and chopped

3 chai tea bags

1 tsp ground cinnamon

3 tbsp of no added sugar pancake syrup

2 cups of water

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp almond extract

1 tbsp cornstarch


Directions:

Add all the ingredients, except the cornstarch, into a large saucepan and bring to a boil.

Turn to simmer and continue to cook until the pears are soft.

Remove the teabags. Make a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water) and add to the bubbling pear mixture. Keep stirring until mixture thickens.

Store in a covered container in the refrigerator.
