Savoury Overnight Growing Oatmeal (1 point)

3 servings (1/2 cup)


Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups fat free chicken broth

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup uncooked old fashioned oatmeal


Directions:

Combine all ingredients into a medium saucepan.

Bring to a boil, and then reduce to a simmer. Cook and stir until creamy and thickened, about 15 minutes.

Transfer to a bowl or jar, and let cool completely. Refrigerate until cold and thick, at least 5 hours.

Mix thoroughly before serving. Reheat or eat chilled.


Suggested Serving: Serve with assorted savoury toppings including eggs, meat, cheese, veggies and sauces.
