Slow Cooker Beef Chili (6 points)

8 servings (1 1/2 cups each)


Ingredients:

2 pounds uncooked lean ground beef

1 cup uncooked onion, chopped

1 cup bell peppers, chopped

1 cup uncooked celery, chopped

2,14 oz canned diced tomatoes

2, 14 oz canned tomato sauce

4.5 oz chopped green chilies

14 oz can navy beans, drained and rinsed

14 oz can pinto beans, drained and rinsed

14 oz can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

8 tsp tsp chili powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

2 tsp ground cumin

1 1/2 tsp table salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)


Directions:

Brown ground beef in a lightly sprayed skillet on medium high heat, breaking it up as it cooks.

Add cooked beef to a large slow cooker. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well.

Cook in the slow cooker for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.


Suggested Serving: Serve with shredded cheese, yogurt, salsa and sliced green onions.
