Ingredients:
14 oz can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup fat free cottage cheese
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup green onions, sliced
1 large egg
1 lemon, zest only
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Directions:
Pulse the drained and rinsed chickpeas in a food processor or blender. Do not over-blend, leave them a little chunky.
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together until everything is combined.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into burger patties.
Spray a large skillet and heat over medium high heat. Fry the burgers on both sides until a deep brown crust is formed.
Suggested Serving: Serve on a pita with burger sauce, pickled red onion, dill pickle, spinach and tomato.
