Turkey Breakfast Sausage (1 point)

Ingredients:

1 pound ground turkey breast

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1 egg

1 tsp table salt

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried sage

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp fennel seed, crushed

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes


Directions:

In a large mixing bowl add the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg and spices. Stir until combined.

Measure out 1/6 of this mixture per sausage patty. Form and shape them.

You can either fry these in a lightly sprayed skillet on medium high heat 3-4 minutes per side OR in an air fryer at 400F for 8-10 minutes OR bake them in the oven at 350F for 30 minutes.


Variation: You could substitute the ground turkey breast with ground chicken breast.


Suggested Serving: Serve with pancakes, waffles and/or eggs. Great for breakfast sandwiches.
