Chai Apple Bars (2 points)

4 servings (1 bar each)


Ingredients:

2 oz uncooked oatmeal

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 pinch table salt

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground cardamon

1/8 tsp ground cloves

1/8 tsp ground ginger

1/8 tsp ground coriander

1 pinch black pepper

4 oz banana, ripe

25g deglet noor dates

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

4 oz apple, grated


Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350F. Prepare a small baking dish (2 - 4" x 4" pans or a 5" x 7" loaf pan) by lightly spraying it with oil. Set aside.

In a medium bowl combine the oatmeal, baking powder, salt and spices. Set aside.

Blend the banana, dates, egg and vanilla extract. Add to the dry ingredients. Mix well.

Fold in the grated apple. Pour batter into the prepared pan(s).

Bake for 30 minutes.

After cooling, cut into 4 bars.
