Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

1/2 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 plain 0% greek yogurt

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

2 tsp date powder

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp vanilla extract


Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together.

Refrigerate overnight

Can be eaten cold or warmed up combined with fruit, seeds or nuts.


Variations:

Peanut Butter Cup - add 2 tbsp powdered peanut butter + 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa.


Vanilla Protein - add 6g good protein creamy vanilla protein powder.


Apple Cranberry Vanilla Protein -  add 6g good protein vanilla protein powder  + another 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon + 1/2 chopped apple + 27g reduced sugar craisins. Leave out the date powder.


Blueberry Banana Vanilla Protein - add 6g good protein creamy vanilla protein powder. Add 1/2 mashed banana + 1/2 cup blueberries. Leave out the date powder.


Banana Salted Caramel Protein - add  6g good protein salted caramel protein. Add a sliced banana. Leave out the date powder.         


Strawberry Banana Vanilla Protein - add 6g good protein creamy vanilla protein powder. Add 1/2 mashed banana + 1/2 cup strawberries. Leave out the date powder.


Blueberry Lemon Poppy Seed - add 6g good protein vanilla protein powder. Add 1/2 cup blueberries + 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice + 1 tsp lemon zest  + 1 tsp poppy seeds.


Chai Apple - leave out the date powder and add a serving of chai microwave gooey apples (see recipe).


Apple Crisp - reduce the milk to 1/4 cup, add 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce + 1/4 grated apple + 1/4 tsp additional cinnamon. Top with a couple tbsp oats + 3g sliced almonds + 1 tsp date powder.


Spiced Apple -  add 6g good protein vanilla protein powder, reduce the milk to 1/4 cup, add 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce + 1/4 grated apple + 1/4 tsp additional cinnamon + 1/8 tsp nutmeg + pinch of ginger. Leave out the date powder.

The original recipe does not call for almond milk, the the variations call for increasing the almond milk? Could you clsrify please?
